Are you a British man aged 28 or 29? Is your name Mike? Or Mark? Or Luke? Or Evan? If so, then it’s highly likely that you will impregnate a woman in 2016. It’s been scientifically proven, sort of. In a study of the average age of first-time mothers in the UK, Netmums.com found that it was 28-29. The study assumed that the majority of these women’s partners are probably around the same age, so they looked at the most common boys’ names between 1986 and 1987. The names Ryan, Kyle, John, Jason, and Rob are all on the list.
A corresponding study of girls’ names finds that if you’re 28 and called Jessica, Sarah, Melissa, Amber, Emma, or Laura, then you’ll probably be expecting the pitter-patter of tiny feet soon. Like I said, it’s sort of scientific. Just think, though, maybe you know a couple in England called Danielle and Justin, or Megan and Nathan, in which case you’ll probably need to buy gifts for a baby shower any day.
