Bill and Melinda Gates‘ #GivingPledge initiative that gets billionaires on board to change the world with their money has seen some of the world’s richest people join forces. Gates’s good pal Warren Buffett is just one big name among those like Michael Bloomberg, Diane Von Furstenberg, Paul Allen and Mark Zuckerberg — all of whom have pledged.
A recent pledge initiate is HRH Pince Alwaleed bin Talal, the Saudi business titan and philanthropist. As CEO of the Kingdom Holding Company, Alwaleed controls large stakes not only in various Saudi businesses but in global enterprises like Citigroup and 21st Century Fox. He previously announced he would donate all of his money to charity. This week Alwaleed announced he would join the Giving Pledge, stirring Bill Gates — who already admired Alwaleed’s previous philanthropic efforts — to say he was “inspired” by the generosity and work of the prince.
.@Alwaleed_Talal Inspired by your generosity and work through @alwaleed_philan.
