In the TV movie Broken Promise, teenagers Mina Gardner and Reese Sinclair (Louis Mandylor) break into an empty mansion for a little alone time. The high school couple is caught off guard when the owner shows up with a gun and shoots Reese in the leg. In self-defense, Mina accidentally kills the owner (with a two-by-four) and Reese takes the blame. After serving 20 years in jail, Reese expects he and Mina to pick up where they left off. The fact that Mina is married with a teenage daughter doesn’t stop Reese from wanting and trying to get the life he believes he deserves with Mina.
Mina is portrayed by model-turned-actress Ashley Scott. She’s known for her roles on UnREAL (Mary Newhouse), Jericho (Emily Sullivan), Birds of Prey (Helena Kyle aka The Huntress), and Dark Angel (Asha Barlow). Scott got her big break in the 2011 Steven Spielberg movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence as “Gigolo Jane.” Broken Promise premieres on LMN on May 22 at 8pm. It will air again on May 23 at 12am, June 7 at 8pm, and June 8 at 12am.
