Soap opera actress Genie Francis is best known for her role as Laura on General Hospital. She said at the age of 14, when she started working on General Hospital, she was put on a diet “which made me very insecure.” Francis says, “I’ve been in pain about my body and my weight all my life.” At 53, she became a NutriSystem spokesperson, and has since lost 40 lbs.
Genie Francis is one of the three celebrities interviewed by fellow NutriSystem spokesperson Oprah Winfrey on her TV show Oprah: Where Are They Now? The two others are supermodel Iman and child prodigy Greg Smith who entered college at the age of 10 and was first nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize at 12. Oprah: Where Are They Now airs Saturdays at 10pm on OWN.
