In the black-ish episode “Black Nanny,” Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) convinces her husband Dre (Anthony Anderson) to hire a nanny to help around the house and with the kids. After a number of strange interviews with a variety of caregivers, Dre meets Vivian, who offers to take care of not just the kids but the parents too. The only problem (at first) is that Dre doesn’t feel comfortable hiring a black nanny.
Vivian is portrayed by Regina Hall. She’s best known for her roles in the films Vacation (Nancy Peterson), About Last Night (Joan), The Best Man movies (Candace), Think Like a Man (Candace), Love & Basketball (Lena), and in the Scary Movie movies (Brenda). Hall is also recognized for her recurring roles on Grandfathered (CEO Catherine), Law & Order: LA (Deputy D.A. Everlyn Price), and Ally McBeal (Corretta Lipp). Hall will appear next on the big screen in Rush Hour 4, The Best Man Wedding, and with Anthony Anderson in Barbershop: The Next Cut. black-ish airs Wednesdays at 9:30pm on ABC.
