Marcel Lazar Lehel — the hacker known as Guccifer — will be extradited to the United States and charged with Identity Theft and Computer Intrusion, according to Reuters. Guccifer was apprehended in his native Romania in January 2014. In the U.S. he will face a nine-count felony indictment.
Guccifer gained fame for hacking celebrities, including famous politicians such as former U.S. presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Guccifer also hacked the private email accounts of public figures like Colin Powell, Nicole Kidman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steve Martin and many more. His hacking figures to play a prominent role in the current U.S. presidential election. Guccifer was the first to bring attention to the controversial fact that, as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton used a private email server. Guccifer’s main technique?
