La’Porsha Renae of McComb, Mississippi is one of the 13 young women who’ve made it to the Top 24 on the fifteenth and final season of American Idol. For her rendition of “Proud Mary”, she wore a black fringed dress, had fun and absolutlely nailed it. After the perfect performance, judge Harry Connick Jr. said: “I think one of two things are going to happen after your performance. You’re going to make the others better or you’re going to make them want to quit.” He added, “I’d be foolish to critique that performance in any shape or form.”
Keith Urban, who was up off his feet as Renae sang, agreed and said, “You remain a portal for the gift.” Jennifer Lopez oozed with compliments too. “It’s a joy to listen to you sing.” She added, “I dream about voices like yours.” American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
