In the new reality TV show Stevie J & Joseline Go Hollywood, the former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta couple settle into Los Angeles. Stevie J is adjusting well. He likes LA, it’s familiar to him. “I had a lot of success in the late 1990s in LA,” he says in the show’s premiere. But his wife Joseline (they’re separated but still working together) is having a hard time. Stevie J suggests that Joseline meet with Laurieann Gibson, a performer (dancer, singer, actress, choreographer) who knows the business well.

Trained as a dancer at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Gibson became director of choreography at Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and helped Diddy find the next all-girl band on MTV’s reality TV show Making the Band. You can see Gibson’s choreography in the movies Honey starring Jessica Alba (Gibson played Alba’s nemesis Katrina) and Alfie starring Jude Law, and in the Lady Gaga music videos, “Judas” and “You and I” (see below), among others. Fun fact about Gibson: She was one of the Fly Girls on In Living Color in the early 1990s. Stevie J & Joseline Go Hollywood airs Mondays at 9pm on VH1.
