On The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra Parks accepts a call from her husband Apollo Nida who’s an inmate at the FMC Lexington Prison in Kentucky. In the fall of 2014, Nida started his 7-year sentence after he was found guilty of bank fraud and identity theft. Phaedra says she tries to maintain the relationship between Apollo and their two sons “by allowing them to speak as often as possible.”
On the episode, “Ms. Parks Goes to Washington,” Nida calls while Paedra and her younger son Ayden are packing for their trip to DC. On speaker phone, Apollo tells Ayden to behave at school, and to take pictures in DC. At the end of the call, Nida tells the little boy, “I’ll be home soon, alright?” It was meant to be a positive, optimistic remark to the child but according to the Bureau of Prisons, Nida’s release date is August 29, 2020. The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8pm on Bravo.
