James Franco has accomplished a lot in his 38 years of life. He started out as an actor. After the TV series Freaks and Geeks he went on star in big Hollywood movies including Spider-Man, Pineapple Express, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and The Interview. And he made his debut on Broadway in the revival of Of Mice and Men. But he’s out to prove to the world that he’s more than an actor. A gallery in New York held his first solo exhibiton of art. Publishers are printing his stories and poems. And his band Daddy just got signed by Kobalt. But is he cooler than fellow Renaissance man Joseph Gordon-Levitt?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the former child actor (Tommy Solomon in 3rd Rock from the Sun) who studied acting at Columbia before founding his own online production company hitRECord, a collaborative of artists who make short films, comic books, and music CDs. Gordon-Levitt wrote, directed and starred in his own feature film, Don Jon. And he’s just landed the role of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone’s upcoming film Snowden. But he’s more than an actor, writer, director, too. He can sing — which he proves on The Muppets with Miss Piggy — and can dance (which he proved on Lip Sync Battle, see below). Did we mention he’s married to Silicon Valley CEO Tasha McCauley of Fellow Robots?
