Professional golfer Jason Day and his wife Ellie were sitting courtside at a Cavaliers game when LeBron James rumbled into Ellie during a play. She was taken away on a stretcher and reportedly suffered from concussion-like symptoms. She has been released from the hospital. ESPN Radio commentator Mike Golic of the show Mike & Mike says he can’t believe Day didn’t attempt to protect his wife. “You’re sitting there. You know what’s going to happen.” The former NFL defensive lineman Golic said Day should have “made an effort.”
Golic’s counterpart, Mike Greenberg, tells him he’s not being fair. Golic protested, “If he [Day] just leaned in toward her…” Note: Golic is married to a woman who knows a bit about injuries — and how to prevent them. His wife Christine Golic is a member of the advisory committee for USA’s Football Heads Up Football, a program to help prevent players injuries including concussions on the field.
