‘Who Is Fancy’ Slaying ‘Boys Like You’ On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Who Is Fancy is the stage name for the 24-year-old singer born Jake Hagood. He was born and raised in a Christian household in Bentonville, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, he moved to Nashville to attend Trevecca Nazarene University. While at school he wrote and performed original music in the Music City where he was discovered by Big Machine Label producers Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta and Dr. Luke. Hagood was given the nickname Fancy while working at a Forever 21 as a college student.

Three videos were released for his single “Goodbye.” Each video addresses a theme like gender identity or body positivity — and features people lip syncing to the song. He revealed his identity in April on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Fancy was the opening act for Meghan Trainor’s 2015 tour and Ariana Grande’s The Honeymoon Tour. Who Is Fancy’s debut album will be released in December, right after his performance of “Boys Like You” with Trainor and Grande on Dancing with the Stars (November 23, 8pm on ABC).
