A sixteen-year-old cheerleader in San Diego, Hannah Anderson, was abducted by a family friend she called Uncle Jim. James DiMaggio killed Hannah’s mother and eight-year-old brother Ethan before taking Hannah hostage. They left California and for a week hid in the Idaho wilderness before the FBI found them. DiMaggio was shot dead. Anderson survived.

In the Lifetime movie, Kidnapped: The Hannah Anderson Story, Hannah is portrayed by Jessica Amlee. DiMaggio is portrayed by Scott Patterson. He’s best known for his roles as diner owner Luke in Gilmore Girls, Gary in Aliens in America, and Agent Peter Strahm in the scary Saw movies. Kidnapped: The Hannah Anderson Story premieres on Lifetime on May 23 at 8pm. It will also air on May 24 (12am, 8pm) and May 25 (12am).
