Gwendolyn Bewley was 67 when she was found dead inside her Aurora, Ohio home in 2007. She was strangled before her house was set afire in an attempt to conceal the homicide. Her murderer –her neighbor, Timothy Sheline — was arrested when he was spotted driving his dead neighbor’s rented car and in possession of her credit cards. A family member paid his $10,000 bond but Sheline didn’t show up for his sentencing.
In January 2015, seven years after Bewley’s death, Sheline was finally indicted on charges of murder, aggravated arson and tampering with evidence. Bewley’s cold case will be featured on Cold Justice on May 8 at 8pm on TNT.
