The night her friend Kelly Brennan went missing, Sheila Trott said she had a dream about Kelly. She said she saw Kelly arguing with someone at Marks Landing, a beach near their town of Indialantic, Florida. Trott told the police, and there they discovered the body of Brennan. Brennan had been brutally beaten. The associate medical examiner said Brennan had been hit 12 to 14 times on the head, from behind. But the hammer was never found.
When Trott led the police to the body, she immediately became the prime suspect. Her motive? Brennan was having an affair with Sheila’s estranged husband, Dan Trott, former mayor of Indialantic. In 2014, Trott was found guilty of murder. She was sentenced to life in jail. 48 Hours will air their interview with Sheila Trott, who still claims that she is innocent, on May 2 at 10pm on CBS.
