For those inclined to read their Bibles, where (chapter and verse, please) does it say: Thou shall serveth the Lord, and be blessed with a $60 million Gulfstream jet? Hmm, that question is begging to be answered by Creflo Dollar, a mega-church pastor with 30,000 congregants, out of Atlanta. Dollar says he needs the jet in order to spread the word of God around the globe, and economy class will not do.
So he placed a video on his World Changers Church International website asking parishioners and supporters to bless the ministry with a Gulfstream G650. (At least he says what he’s going to use it for!) According to CNN.com, the jet is roomy: it has two Rolls-Royce engines, high-speed Internet, and can get you from New York to Los Angeles in less than three hours. Nothing is too expensive, luxurious, comfortable for a pastor intent on bringing God’s message to the outer reaches. Ask Liberian president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who vouched for Dollar’s pricey request. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets the money.
