Director Zack Snyder changed Throwback Thursday to Future Thursday when he posted the first pic of Jason Momoa as Aquaman with the mysterious tagline #UniteTheSeven. What does it mean? The Verge thinks it “could either be a reference to the seven seas, or to the seven members of the Justice League.” (Batman, Superman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and the Martian Manhunter.)
Momoa does look badass enough to carry the rest of the Tweet, which reads simply “There is only one true King.” That trident alone looks like a weapon to be reckoned with. And Momoa looks ready to bring all the menace from his Game of Thrones set to the ocean. Snyder’s also playing a much bigger game, however much he admires Aquaman as a character. Batman v. Superman has so much riding on it there was speculation it might be split into two movies.
