Rosie O’Donnell recently performed at a local comedy club, Levity Live in Nyack, New York (where O’Donnell used to live for years). HBO will air the stand-up set, “A Heartfelt Stand Up,” on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 10pm. The live performance was in December, before O’Donnell announced her divorce from wife Michelle Rounds, and her departure from the talk show The View. A spokesperson said O’Donnell is putting her “family and health first.” She had a heart attack in 2012.
In “A Heartfelt Stand Up,” O’Donnell talks a lot about raising her five children – four are now teenagers. O’Donnell, a self-proclaimed liberal and pacifist, talks a lot about her 19-year-old son Parker who surprised her by applying to the military college, The Citadel, where he is now student/cadet. There’s a lot of material there and O’Donnell knows how to use it.
