Hopefully the coffee will still be damn fine, because Kyle MacLachlan is returning to Twin Peaks. Deadline reports that the actor has confirmed his involvement in the new series, written by Mark Frost and David Lynch. Little is known about the show, other than it is set in the present day, and that Lynch will direct every episode.
MacLachlan’s performance as Agent Dale Cooper, the nominal outsider in a town full of weirdos, helped ensure the original series’ success. Cooper was all perfect hair, quirky sayings, and earnest but eccentric appreciation of cherry pie and coffee (which he drank as black as his hair was). The series first began in 1990; MacLachlan’s perfect hair now has a lot more grey. Will that mean that Cooper will take cream in his coffee?
