Elvis Presley’s two private planes, Lisa Marie and Hound Dog II, are being sold by Julien’s Auctions. The planes cannot be flown – they’re for display only.
The Lisa Marie, named after the King’s daughter, can hold 32 passengers. It is pimped out, 70s style — in leather seating, solid gold seat belt buckles, a full bar, a “penthouse” bedroom with a queen-sized bed (what, a king couldn’t fit?!) and an executive bathroom with gold faucets. The Lisa Marie also has a videotape system with four televisions and fifty speakers. The Hound Dog II is smaller; it has room for eight to ten passengers. The planes are being sold together. The auction ends February 2.
