Florida attorney general Pam Bondi is trying to keep the ban on same-sex marriages in her state. In August, federal district judge Robert Hinkle ruled the statewide ban unconstitutional. The state is appealing to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals – they have until January 5, 2015. Bondi is now petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court to extend the ban as the 11th Circuit denied an extension.
The 49-year-old AG has been married three times. She married Garret Barnes in 1990 – that marriage ended in divorce after nearly two years. In 1996, Bondi remarried a man named Scott Fitzgerald — that marriage ended in divorce after six years. In 2012 she kinda of got married to 62-year-old ophthalmologist Greg Henderson.
