It’s a comic book and zombie world out there, folks. Get with it or be unhip forever. Like Aussie entries Uggs and Black Milk clothing before it, another Australian creation, Living Dead Clothing, has gone from being a quirky brand a few people wanted to something all the cool kids must have. Living Dead was founded by Australian entrepreneur Wade Lange two years ago, after Wade recognized that geeks were taking over the earth (and beyond!). That’s geeks in a complimentary way, of course. Comic book characters dominate the culture and shows like The Walking Dead have made binge-watching ever more spooky and brutal.
Wade quickly expanded his brand–from zombies to superheroes. These days you show up on the Living Dead site and the first thing you see is Guardians of the Galaxy attire. (Hint: this is no longer a garage business.) Founder Lange told the Daily Dot that “The main issue was getting the message out to girls and guys that my quality was on par and in some respects better than competitors.” They seem to have gotten the message. “We manufacture the best printed leggings, dresses, swimsuits, rainmakers and skater dresses in the Universe,” the site claims. And now they’re taking their Italian Lycra to the Marvel Universe too.
