Creed lead singer Scott Stapp, the guy who put Christ back in rock or something like that, says he’s flat broke and living in a Holiday Inn. The motel shelter is a step up from his truck, where he’d been sleeping for weeks–often without food–according to his own testimony in a video Stapp made for Facebook.
The video is meant to contradict rumors that he’s on drugs and drinking, that he’s relapsed or that he’s dead. None of those are true, Stapp states. He claims he’s under “vicious attack.” His money was stolen, he claims, and “all hell began to break loose.” Stapp confirms he “loves God with all [my] heart.” Stapp’s wife recently filed for divorce. Her divorce petition says that her husband was “doing so much amphetamines, crystal meth and steroids that he has become a paranoid shell who has threatened to kill himself and harm his family.”
