Musician Billy Corgan and CNN anchorman Anderson Cooper are still in a catfight. Cooper started the feud last month when he questioned the singer’s rock n’ roll cred after Corgan posed on the cover of PAWS Chicago to raise funds for a cat shelter. Corgan responded by saying that raising funds for animal shelters and making alternative music were not mutually exclusive, but “you’re too busy being a globalist shill to know the difference.” That should have been the end of it, but no, it seems Corgan still wants to do some scratching. Uproxx is reporting that at a Smashing Pumpkins concert in Chicago, “fans spotted these t-shirts at the merch table that proclaim ‘F*CK YOU, ANDERSON COOPER’ with a picture of cats in bow-ties.”
Okay, let’s just admit right now: there’s nothing more rock n’ roll than cats in bow-ties. While this story is catnip to gossipy journos, Cooper has not yet risen to the bait. We will keep you scratch-posted. In unrelated news, Wolf Blitzer has announced that he knows what gifts he’ll be giving his colleagues at the CNN Christmas party.
