Best-selling author John Grisham says men who view child pornography online should be given lighter prison sentences. He told the Telegraph that those who were jailed for downloading child porn had probably had “too much to drink.” He claims to have a “good buddy” who went to prison for three years after getting caught in a Canadian child porn sting. (P.S. A sting implies his good buddy didn’t do it just once on a bender.)
Grisham says his friend shouldn’t have done it, i.e., go to a website that advertised “sixteen year old wannabee hookers” even if the 16 year old girls “looked 30.” Grisham added, “It was stupid, but it wasn’t 10-year-old boys.” Grisham explained he doesn’t have sympathy for “real pedophiles.” Grisham is promoting his latest legal thriller, Gray Mountain.
