Actor Luke Evans (Fast & Furious, The Hobbit) stars as Vlad Tepes (aka Vlad the Impaler, Dracula) in the film Dracula Untold. To be released October 10, Dracula Untold tells the human story behind Dracula. It opens in 1462 Transylvania with Prince Vlad as a respected ruler, husband and father to a young boy. When the neighboring Turks led by sultan Mehmed (Dominic Cooper) demand that Vlad surrender 1,000 boys to serve in their army, all hell breaks loose and Vlad’s new, dark urges arise.
To prepare for the role Evans said he watched a lot of documentaries and read a lot of biographies on Vlad the Impaler. He said he also listened to the English neo-psychedelia band Kasabian. The band is named after Linda Kasabian, a member of the Charles Manson cult.
