Nirvana’s Dave Grohl and Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love have had a famous feud ever since Cobain’s suicide, but it seems the two have finally buried the hatchet in true rock-star fashion: knocking back a few tequila shots together and having a bet about who can score the most strippers. After Nirvana’s induction into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in April, where the two hugged, of which Grohl said “We’ve had a rocky road. We’ve had a bumpy past, but at the end of the day we’re a big family and when we hugged each other it was a real hug.” Grohl and Love headed out for a night of partying. “Courtney and Dave were nose-to-nose at the table in the back, laughing, crying and hugging. It’s nice to see those two burying the hatchet for real. Courtney doesn’t really drink, but she and Dave did tequila shots. They were very intense with each other. People were surprised . . . Michael Stipe looked like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Then Courtney and Dave were heard making a 10-grand bet on who could get the most strippers at Scores,” reports Page Six.
Love left early but Grohl and friends went to a strip bar “and dropped $10,000 on booze and lap dances, while a stripper told Page Six that if there had been a competition, ‘Grohl ‘would have definitely won.'” Well, it turns out Courtney Love didn’t regard the wager as an empty, booze-fueled bet. “The bet is still on @davegrohl we’ll do the wager out west and I swear I’ll win! #sonichighways#family xc” the singer tweeted last week.
