Nutek Disposables has issued a recall for its baby wipes because they could contain a bacteria that resists antibiotics. Brands affected include Cuties, Diapers.com, Femtex, Fred’s, Kidgets, Member’s Mark, Simply Right, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch and Well Beginnings.
Walgreens, Sam’s Club, Family Dollar, Fred’s and Diapers.com all carry the products. The bacteria “poses little medical risk to healthy people,” according to the FDA. “However, people who have certain health problems like weakened immune systems or chronic lung diseases, particularly cystic fibrosis, may be more susceptible to infections.” Nutek’s recall was voluntary, not mandated.
