Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps was arrested for DUI in Baltimore. He was driving a white 2014 Land Rover at 84 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the MDTA statement. “He was unable to perform satisfactorily a series of standard field sobriety tests. Mr. Phelps was cooperative throughout the process.” He was charged with driving under the influence, excessive speed, and crossing double lane lines.
In 2004, Phelps was arrested on DUI charges. He was placed on 18 months’ probation. At the time, Phelps said: “I’ve learned from this mistake and will continue learning from this mistake for the rest of my life.” Phelps is now 29 years old.
