Jason Biggs, the American Pie actor who proved in that movie that he will screw just about anything (including, famously, baked goods), is again using Twitter to try to screw his own career. After the tragic downing of the Malaysian Airlines flight that killed 295 people over Ukraine, Biggs tweeted, “Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?”
Comedians can win respect when they live by the rule that “nothing’s sacred,” but it comes with a price. Biggs, it turns out, is pretty sensitive for an insensitive guy. After getting flamed in response to his tweet, he seemed genuinely surprised–and pissed. “The idea that I wouldn’t have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right? Truly – you losers are literally trying to find s–t to get angry about.” So if you are one of those people who think it’s in bad taste to joke about 295 innocent people being shot down out of the air by a rogue terrorist’s missile, you’re a loser, according to Biggs. Later, though, apparently his agent called because he deleted all the tweets. Or maybe his agent didn’t call, because the actor wanted everyone to know: “P.S. No one is making me send these tweets.” Because in case you were wondering, Jason Biggs doesn’t need any advice from anyone. He’s handling things really well on his own.
