Pau Gasol returns to the Chicago Bulls lineup for Game 6 versus Cleveland — and Gasol should be a welcome sight for Bulls fans. The Cavaliers rode a strong LeBron James performance to a 3-2 series lead in Game 5 in Cleveland. Now back on Chicago’s floor, the Bulls will look for Gasol to add some interior offense to complement their Butler-Rose outside assault. If Gasol plays well, Chicago is much harder for the Cavs to defend.
The Memphis Grizzlies and center Marc Gasol also face elimination in Game 6 against MVP Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The Grizzlies, like the Bulls are down 3-2 in the series. Also like the Bulls, they’ll play Game 6 on their home floor. Golden State has won the last two. The Gasol brothers, from Spain, were both voted as starters in this year’s NBA All-Star Game. Starting centers in the All-Star game are expected to take their teams to at least the conference finals. Both brothers will need to win back to back games against formidable foes to do it.
