Rapper Vanilla Ice, born Robert Van Winkle, was given his own DIY Network TV show, The Vanilla Ice Project. He and a crew renovate and flip some of Florida’s largest mansions. Ice’s blue-haired daughter Keelee sometimes help with interior design. But as with any home improvement project, there are obstacles and delays. That’s what makes the show. Until now. Now there’s more.
Ice was charged this week with burglary of a residence and grand theft in Palm Beach. The home was abandoned and next to a home that Ice has been renovating. The renovating rapper–or rapping renovator–was released on a $6,000 bond. He told WPTV that the situation was a “misunderstanding” that’s been “blown out of proportion.” The house was not, btw, owned by members of Queen or David Bowie, from whom Ice burgled his first big hit.
