Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs unleashed a rare flash of anger at the frustration of presiding over a state where election deniers enjoy a longer half-life than in other states.
Being trailed, filmed and harassed by a reporter during nonworking hours, Hobbs keeps on the move to avoid confrontation before finally half-turning to deliver her profane smackdown of Jordan Conrad of the far right Gateway Pundit.
Conrad begins with the broad stroke, “Ms. Hobbs, I have some questions about the election” before launching into details about signatures and “secret testing on the machines” in Maricopa County.
Hobbs walks briskly away from the trailing Conrad, listening for nearly a minute before half turning to say: “Give it a f-ing rest, Jordan. I’m at the gym.”
I couldn’t possibly love this more. https://t.co/BOfCigYEbK

Conrad then gives the Governor an opportunity to confirm what she’d said, repeating her words and asking “is that what you said?”
“I sure did,” replies the Governor.
Hobbs was not questioning the Governor about her defeat of Kari Lake, Hobbs’s election-denying opponent in the race for the Arizona governor’s office in 2022, but about the 2020 presidential election. Hobbs was at the time Secretary of State in Arizona.
Lake didn’t miss an opportunity to comment on the video, writing that Hobbs is “a corrupt, coward and a fraud who knows she stole the election.”
This woman is a corrupt, coward and a fraud who knows she stole the election.

The people will Never "give it a f-cking rest" until our elections are fair and honest. https://t.co/GymGSNhB4V
In other places, many of the most fervent election deniers have moved on to related initiatives like trying to control the 2024 election. But in Arizona, where Kari Lake has not ceased stirring the “rigged election” pot even though her efforts keep failing in the courts, the 2020 election results are an evergreen political subject.
(NOTE: Fox News famously called Arizona early for Joe Biden, in a move excoriated by Trump supporters.)
