After announcing the final tour for the band Dead & Company (Summer 2023), singer, songwriter and guitarist John Mayer gave an update on his solo career.
As seen above, Dead & Company consists of former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, along with Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti.
With the series of photos above which feature John in the studio with his “roxy pink” PRS electric guitar in every shot, Mayer tells his fans: “I love touring and will continue to play live shows, but in staying open to what’s driving me creatively, it felt like making more music was the most inspired feeling I had.” He adds: “I’ve just got more songs to make.”
Mayer fans have accepted the news well. As one replied: “This gives me more time to save money for the next tour while you’re in the studio doing your thing!“
