NBA Superstar Kevin Durant won back-to-back NBA Finals MVPs for the Golden State Warriors. He gave his all. He appreciated the organization and the Warriors org appreciated KD, even if sometimes fans wouldn’t make room for the big fella in their hearts.
Durant’s appreciation of the Warriors continues, despite his decision to take his talents to the Brooklyn Nets and despite rumors that he was pressured into playing before he was ready — causing the heartbreaking (and title-busting) Achilles injury he suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals.
But turns out those rumors were bunk, as Durant told Chris Haynes at Yahoo. Did the Warriors force him back early? Durant gave a definitive no to that question.
“Hell, no…I heard the Warriors pressured me into getting back. Nobody never said a word to me during rehab as I was coming back…Right when the series started, I targeted Game 5. Hell, nah. It just happened. It’s basketball.”
