Who Is Liz on ‘Roswell, New Mexico’? Hint: She Can Dance
In the series premiere of CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, the protagonist, scientist Liz Ortecho, reluctantly returns to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico. She reconnects with her teenage crush, Max Evans (Nathan Parsons, CW’s The Originals), who’s become a cop in town. But this isn’t a Hallmark show where Liz then decides to stay in her hometown and live happily ever after with Max. No, it turns out Max is an alien “living undercover among humans.” And the crush is still alive and mutual.

Liz Ortecho is portrayed by Jeanine Mason. As an actress, she’s known for her roles on Grey’s Anatomy and Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team (Dr. Sam Bello), and on Bunheads* (Cozette), among others. Prior to launching her acting career, Mason won Season 5 of the TV dance competition So You Think You Can Dance. Roswell, New Mexico airs Tuesdays at 9 pm on CW, right after The Flash.
*Parsons who plays Max was also on Bunheads as Godot.
And while we’re on the subject of “contestants on competition reality shows appearing as serious actors in shows Sarah watches”, please be aware that Jeanine Mason, who won S5 of SYTYCD, just had an *excellent* arc on Grey’s Anatomy. pic.twitter.com/CRNzI4qwYJ
