Styles, a member of the English boy band One Direction, co-wrote the power ballad with glam rock influences. (It’s got a All the Young Dudes kind of vibe.) Styles told Rolling Stone: “The song is written from a point of view as if a mother was giving birth to a child and there’s a complication. The mother is told, ‘The child is fine, but you’re not going to make it.’ The mother has five minutes to tell the child, ‘Go forth and conquer.'” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm on NBC.
Harry Styles filmed the “Sign of the Times” music video (below) on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
