On the Murphy Brown episode “The Girl Who Cried About Wolf”, while working on an investigative story which needs to be vetted by the legal department, Murphy (Candice Brown) is worried about being scooped. And she has a good reason to be worried – loose-lips Frank (Joe Regalbuto) is all-of-a-sudden dating TV anchor Christy Shepherd from Wolf Network.

TV anchor Christy Shepherd is portrayed by two-time Tony Award winner Katie Finneran (Noises Off, 2002; and Promises, Promises, 2010). Shepherd is also recognized for her TV roles on Brockmire (Lucy Brockmire, see photo below), Netflix’s Bloodline (Belle Rayburn), The Michael J. Fox Show (Leigh Henry), I Hate My Teenage Daughter (Nikki Miller), The Inside (Special Agent Melody Sim), and Wonderfalls (Sharon Tyler), among others. Fun fact: she made her debut on the big screen in the 1990 film Night of the Living Dead (Judy Rose). Murphy Brown airs Thursdays at 9:30 pm on CBS, right after Mom, and right before S.W.A.T.
