Lifetime’s new scripted series, You, is about New York City bookstore manager Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley, Gossip Girl) who uses social media to find out all there is to know about the woman of his dreams, Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail, Once Upon a Time). When they meet in real life, Joe is there to save her life at a subway station. Beck falls for Joe. But Beck’s girlfriend Peach Salinger is suspicious of Joe’s appearance at the subway station. “Thank goodness,” Peach tells Joe, “You were at the Greenpoint station, and at the very right moment,” she says with sarcasm. But then again, Peach has a crush on Beck, too. So technically, Beck has two simultaneous stalkers.
Peach Salinger is portrayed by Canadian-born actress Shay Mitchell. She’s known for her roles on Pretty Little Liars (Emily Fields), and Aaron Stone (Irina Webber), among others. Mitchell also played the love interest in Nick Jonas’s 2016 music video “Under You” (see below) and Sean Paul’s 2009 “Hold My Hand” music video. Mitchell’s mother is Filipino and her father is of Irish and Scottish descent. You premieres on Sunday, September 9 at 10pm on Lifetime.
