The Pink Collar Crimes episode “The She-Wolf of Wall Street” investigates the life of Jamila Davis. The 25-year-old single mother of two became a high-flying real estate investor. Many of her clients were rappers, professional athletes, and entertainers looking for upscale homes in affluent Bergen County, New Jersey, near Manhattan. In 2008, Davis was found guilty of fabricating loan applications and defrauding several banks including Lehman Brothers out of more than $14 million in inflated mortgages for high-end homes in the towns of Alpine, Cresskill and Saddle River. Davis was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison. Lehman Brothers collapsed that same year.

Davis served her sentence at the federal correctional institute in Danbury, Connecticut where real estate magnate Leona Helmsley, Grammy singer Lauryn Hill, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, and Orange Is the New Black creator Piper Kerman served their time. Davis did 9 years and was recently released albeit with an ankle bracelet. “I’m still in custody of the BOP (Bureau of Prisons), so technically, I’m still an inmate,” says Davis. Davis is currently involved in the Pink Panthers Clique, a group of women who are providing resources for other formerly incarcerated individuals. Pink Collar Crimes airs Saturdays at 8pm and 9pm on CBS.
