There are several talented young singers/songwriters competing on Season 13 of America’s Got Talent. There’s 20-year-old Christian singer Joseph O’Brien from Tennessee, 24-year-old country singer Hunter Price from Georgia, and 21-year-old Leah Mathies from Ontario, Canada. Mathies’ AGT audition wasn’t televised but all four judges gave her yeses and her Judge Cuts performance will definitely be televised.

Leah released her first EP “Mesmerized” when she was 16 (in 2013). She released the title track “Mesmerized” and a music video (see below) for it that has undeniable echoes of the young country singer Taylor Swift before she became a pop star. “Mesmerized” was released on the same day Leah finished her high school exams. She says the song “summarizes who I am. I wrote the song back in Grade 10 when my little heart was just bursting with the need to express my extreme teenage emotions.” Since then, Leah Mathies has been “reinventing myself.” She’s only 21 but so far Leah has written 100 original songs! New episodes of America’s Got Talent air Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC, right before World of Dance. [Related: AGT: Canadian Singer Leah Mathies, 21, Dating Musician Alex Hayden]
