In the Season 3 episode of Little Big Shots, “Give Us S’mores,” host Steve Harvey gets to do a lot fun things with talented kids. He exercises with 5-year-old Cha Cha, and hears stories around a campfire with Blayze and Tinley. But nothing prepares him for his interview with science whiz Romanieo Golphin. Romanieo’s into organic chemistry and particle physics. (Particle physics? A scientist explains it all using LEGOS in this book.)
[Romanieo has a chemistry kit like this one]
On the Little Big Shots stage, the 8-year-old little genius tells Harvey that his favorite element on the periodic table is element No. 60. (Neodymium). When mixed with iron, it will stick to any metal. Romanieo says, “You should be Mr. Magnetic.” Harvey likes the sound of that. He raises his hand for a high five but Romanieo doesn’t slap it. Instead Romanieo offers Harvey his hand for a handshake. “I like a handshake because I’m a gentleman in training.” When Harvey calls Romanieo, Romy, the kid keeps correcting him. “It’s Romanieo.” Harvey pretends to be exasperated and says, “Oh, it’s too much. Your password is long, your name is long.” Harvey tells his guest: “I’m gonna call you Romy my Homie,” which has the little genius laughing. New episodes of Little Big Shots air Thursdays at 8pm on NBC.
