On the Season 6 Bar Rescue episode “Phishing for Answers,” Jon Taffer travels to Lake City, Florida to check out Phish Heads. There he meets Toni and Phil Chenshaw, “the most incompetent owners,” and their stubborn son who is “the winner of the laziest son award.” Taffer tells the owners “As family, we nurture each other in weakness. As business owners, we can’t nurture weakness.”
Taffer also tells them that he’ll help save the bar from sinking (and help the couple avoid bankruptcy) but he warns them, “If he doesn’t do everything I tell him to do, I will leave if you don’t fire him.” The mother says, “I’m not going to fire my son, he just had a freaking baby.” She admits that “we’re pushovers with our son,” which provokes Taffer to yell, “You’re blocking his growth!”
While the son says he’d like “to continue to get drunk and hang out with chicks” on the job, Taffer puts him through bar back boot camp. Phish Heads is now Phish Tales and, yes, the son is still working there. New episodes of Bar Rescue air Sundays at 10pm on Paramount Network.
