In The Real Housewives of New York City episode “Tea for Tat,” Tinsley Mortimer asks her new BFF Carole Radziwill about her relationship with her once live-in boyfriend Adam. She asks Carole if they’re “friends with benefits.” Carole avoids answering by looking up the etymology of the phrase. Meanwhile, Tinsley is surprised when she returns to New York. Her ex-boyfriend Scott Kluth knocks on her door with flowers. Tinsley squeals with excitement and actually lets herself collapse on the floor. Scott tells Tinsley she looks great – they haven’t seen each other for months – and admits that he’s nervous “but I don’t know why.” Later, Carole admits that she helped Scott with the surprise.
