In the Bar Rescue episode “Daddy Dearest,” Jon Taffer traveled to Mount Dora, Florida to check out Sidelines Bar & Grill. There he met the owner, Rich Marinacci, “an aggressive father at the helm of the family run bar.” When Rich is told that the food delivered to customers is cold and that the cooks (his sons) aren’t wearing gloves, Rich storms into the kitchen and slaps his son Richie in the face. It’s a heartbreaking scene. The son barely reacts to the slap; he continues to look at the phone in his hand.
Still, Taffer decided to help Rich and re-branded Sidelines as Lake House Bar & Grill. The episode first aired in August 2017. As of May 2018, the Marinaccis have kept the name and look and are now serving breakfast with a choice of more than 30 different omelets. According to their Facebook page, Lake House is serving “the fluffiest, largest homemade pancakes” in the state of Florida! Bar Rescue episodes air on Sundays on Paramount Network.
