On the Empire episode “Of Hardiness is Mother,” while Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) is supposed to be resting after her heart attack, Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Andre (Trai Byers) try to get some dirt on Eddie (Forest Whitaker). They stop by a tennis club where Eddie’s ex-wife Celeste is getting a lesson. She’s not pleased to see Lucious on the court. When Lucious starts digging around Celeste tells him, “If you think you can stronghold me like one of your rappers, you are sorely mistaken.” It’s a good scene.
Eddie’s ex-wife Celeste is portrayed by Ryan Michelle Bathe. She’s known for her roles on Dr. Ken (Miss Flanagan), This Is Us (Jack and Rebecca’s friend Yvette), Army Wives (Charlie), Retired at 35 (Jessica Sanders), Trauma (Sela), Brothers & Sisters (Noreen), and Boston Legal (Sara Holt), among others.
