In the black-ish episode “North Star,” it’s Easter and both sides of the family show up at Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) house. It’s big and awkward. One of the characters who steals the scene whenever she’s in it is Gwen (from Bow’s white side of the family). Gwen tells Bow and Dre that she just had to bring her two “fur babies” with her. (They’re dogs.) While holding one in each arm, Gwen explains, “Buttons is for my anxiety, and Pinches is for Button’s anxiety.”
Gwen is portrayed Leslie Grossman. Grossman is known for her roles on American Horror Story (Meadow Wilton/Patricia Krenwinkel), The Good Place (Donna Shellstrop), 10 Things I Hate About You (Ms. Darlene Tharp), Nip/Tuck (Bliss Berger), What I Like About You (Lauren), and Popular (Mary Cherry), among others. Black-ish airs Tuesdays at 9pm on ABC.
