In the Chicago P.D. episode “Chasing Monsters,” an El Salvadoran gang infiltrates the Windy City. A detective from El Salvador, Marcella Gomez, shows up to help the team put an end to the gang’s gruesome tactics. They use machetes. Gomez has worked on several of these kind of cases at home. When Chicago P.D. Detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) gets close to the extremely attractive Gomez, he discovers she has her own motive for being in Chicago.

Detective Marcella Gomez is portrayed by Sofía Lama. The Mexican-born actress is known for her roles on very popular NBC/Telemundo shows including Guerra de Idolos (Gilda Solar), Eva La Trailera (Betty Cardenas), Duenos del Paraiso (Silvana Cardona), Behind Closed Doors (Hilda Gozalez), Eva Luna (Alicia Gonzalez), Without Breasts There Is No Paradise (Julieta Riva Palas), and The Sins of Others (Gloria Mercenario), among others. Fun fact: at the age of 18 Lama starred in the musical Grease as Frenchie and toured throughout Mexico. Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 10pm on NBC, right after Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
