On the Love & Hip Hop: Miami episode “Good Hair,” Amara La Negra can’t believe that Steph Lecor and Veronica Vega were talking behind her back with Young Hollywood. It has Amara questioning everything like “Am I this crazy oversensitive girl that they accuse me of being?” Amara turns to her fellow Afro-Latina friend Juju for advice. “I need to talk to someone who has walked in my shoes,” says Amara. Juliet “Juju” C is from Love & Hip Hop: New York. (She used to date rapper Cam’ron. After close to 10 years, they broke up in 2017.) On Instagram, where she sometimes calls herself Chocolate Cuban, Juju has more than 1.4 million followers. She’s the owner of CandyJewels a line of “raw organic hair extensions.”
In the “Good Hair” episode, Amara meets Juju at a photo shoot. The two young women grew up together in Miami. Juju is back in town to promote her hair extension company with Simple Jess. When Amara tells Julu Young Hollywood said he didn’t like Amara’s afro, Juju was quick to jump in. “I never want to see this industry beat that (her Afro-Cuban identity) out of her, or any other young woman.” Juju suggests that they have a fun photo shoot with some of her wigs and then end with Amara back in her afro. Love & Hip Hop: Miami airs Mondays at 9pm on VH1.
