Joe’s Gourmet Fish Fry is a seafood breading mix. The owners of the food business are the energetic husband and wife team, Joe Dowell and Maranda Dowell from Atlanta, Georgia. But they couldn’t have built their successful business without Joe’s parents. According to Joe’s Gourmet Fish Fry, Joe’s father Joe and his wife Patricia “gifted their life savings” to their son to grow the business. Now those are two generous parents. But it looks like business needs another investor as Joe and Maranda are pitching Joe’s Gourmet Fish Fry on Shark Tank on January 14. They’re seeking an investment of $150,000 in exchange for 15 percent equity. They should have brought dad and mom with them on TV!

Joe’s Gourmet Fish Fry already has a lot going for it. It claims to be healthier than its competitors because the ingredients in Joe’s absorb less oil, and it’s a good deal — a 12 oz. resealable pouch of Joe’s sells for between $3 and $4 (see link above). Plus, Joe’s Gourmet Fish Fry is already in more than 1200 locations in grocery stores including Publix, Kroger, Winn Dixie, and Walmart. New episodes of Shark Tank (Season 9) air Sundays at 9pm and 10pm on ABC. [Related: 27 Favorite Shark Tank Products — New List]
